Industrial Services for Manufacturing
Manufacturing depends on equipment that works when production needs it.
When a motor fails, a shaft wears out, a structural component breaks, or an obsolete part brings a machine to a stop, waiting weeks or months for a replacement may not be an option.
Electric Machine & Fab provides industrial equipment repair, machining, fabrication, welding, electric motor repair, equipment rebuilding, and custom manufacturing capabilities for demanding manufacturing operations.
With facilities in Williamson, West Virginia, and Sidney, Kentucky, EMF supports manufacturers throughout the Appalachian region and across the United States.
From repairing existing equipment to manufacturing a replacement component that can no longer be purchased, our capabilities are built around one objective:
Keep production moving.
Industrial Equipment Repair for Manufacturers
Production machinery can represent years—or decades—of investment.
When a critical component fails, replacing the entire machine isn't always practical.
EMF can evaluate industrial equipment and components to determine whether they can be:
- Repaired
- Rebuilt
- Machined
- Welded
- Fabricated
- Modified
- Reverse engineered
- Reproduced
Our combination of repair and manufacturing capabilities is especially valuable for heavy, specialized, custom, or older production equipment where an off-the-shelf solution may not exist.
Industrial Machining & CNC Machining
Machining is one of the core capabilities manufacturers can draw on at EMF.
We provide industrial machining and CNC machining for repair components, replacement parts, custom machinery components, and larger equipment projects.
Depending on the application, machining can support:
- Shafts
- Pins
- Bushings
- Hubs
- Sleeves
- Bores
- Journals
- Bearing fits
- Housings
- Mounting components
- Mechanical interfaces
- Custom machined parts
- Replacement components
- Fabricated-and-machined assemblies
Our machine-shop capabilities can support both repair machining and new component manufacturing, allowing us to approach a worn component from more than one direction.

Custom Replacement Parts for Manufacturing Equipment
Sometimes the machine isn't obsolete.
The part is.
Manufacturing facilities frequently operate equipment that remains productive long after the original manufacturer stops supporting every component.
A failed part may be:
- Discontinued
- Obsolete
- Difficult to source
- Subject to a long lead time
- Available only as part of a larger assembly
- Modified from its original configuration
- Completely unavailable
EMF can help determine whether the component can be repaired or manufactured as a custom replacement.
We can work from drawings, specifications, existing components, samples, measurements, and available technical information depending on the project.

Reverse Engineering for Obsolete Components
No drawing?
That doesn't necessarily end the project.
When an existing industrial component is available, EMF can use engineering, analysis, and reverse engineering to help determine the information needed to repair or reproduce it.
This can be particularly valuable for older production machinery where documentation has been lost or the original manufacturer no longer supports the equipment.
Once the component requirements are established, EMF's manufacturing capabilities can take over.
Existing Part → Analysis → Manufacturing Plan → Machining/Fabrication → Finished Replacement

Industrial Fabrication & Welding
Manufacturing equipment isn't made entirely from precision-machined components.
Frames crack.
Mounts fail.
Structural sections wear.
Heavy steel assemblies become damaged.
Production changes create the need for new components and modifications.
EMF provides heavy industrial fabrication and welding for manufacturing equipment, machinery components, structural assemblies, and custom industrial projects.
Capabilities can support:
- Equipment frames
- Structural repairs
- Custom steel components
- Heavy equipment assemblies
- Mounting structures
- Equipment bases
- Replacement sections
- Reinforcement
- Custom brackets and supports
- Fabricated repair components
- Fabricated-and-machined assemblies

Large-Format CNC Plate Cutting
When a manufacturing project requires substantial steel plate, EMF has the capacity to handle serious material.
At our Sidney, Kentucky facility, EMF operates a large-format Messer CNC cutting system with a 10-foot by 30-foot cutting table.
For appropriate materials and applications, EMF can process heavy plate in the 8- to 10-inch thickness range.
This capability can support:
- Custom machinery components
- Equipment bases
- Structural sections
- Heavy mounting plates
- Fabrication blanks
- Replacement components
- Wear plates
- Large industrial assemblies
Once cut, components can continue through fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and finishing within EMF.

Industrial Electric Motor Repair
Electric motors are at the heart of manufacturing.
When a large industrial motor fails, the effects can reach far beyond the motor itself.
EMF provides industrial electric motor repair and rebuilding for demanding applications, supported by machining and electromechanical capabilities.
Our ability to address both the electrical and mechanical sides of a motor repair can be especially valuable when the project involves worn shafts, bearing fits, housings, or related mechanical components.
Our Williamson facility is a major center for EMF's industrial electric motor capabilities.

Electromechanical Repair
Manufacturing machinery frequently combines electrical and mechanical systems that have to work together.
A problem that initially looks electrical may involve a mechanical component.
A mechanical failure may damage an electric motor or related equipment.
EMF's electromechanical repair capabilities allow us to approach these projects with both sides of the equipment in mind.
When machining is required as part of the repair, that capability is available within EMF as well.

Power Transmission Repair
Motors create power.
The rest of the machine has to transmit it.
Shafts, couplings, hubs, bearing fits, drive components, and other mechanical connections can wear or become damaged over years of production.
EMF provides industrial power transmission repair support backed by machining, component restoration, and custom manufacturing capabilities.
For older equipment, we can also evaluate whether difficult-to-source mechanical components can be repaired or reproduced.

Equipment Retrofitting & Modernization
Older production equipment can still be extremely valuable.
The challenge is keeping it compatible with today's available components and operating requirements.
A replacement motor may have different mounting requirements.
An obsolete component may need a modern substitute.
A machine may require structural modification.
A custom adapter or mechanical interface may need to be manufactured.
EMF can combine engineering, machining, fabrication, and electromechanical capabilities to support industrial equipment retrofit and modernization projects.
Instead of replacing an entire machine because one part of the system has become obsolete, there may be another option.

Heavy Equipment & Component Rebuilding
Manufacturing operations can contain large components and specialized machinery that conventional repair shops aren't equipped to handle.
When a substantial component becomes worn or damaged, EMF can combine heavy welding, fabrication, machining, plate processing, and replacement-part manufacturing to rebuild it where practical.
Projects may involve:
- Structural assemblies
- Equipment frames
- Heavy mechanical components
- Mounting points
- Shafts and pins
- Worn bores
- Fabricated equipment components
- Material handling equipment
- Wear components

Material Handling & Production Equipment
Material has to move before manufacturing can happen.
Facilities rely on a wide range of mechanically driven and structural equipment to move raw material, components, and finished products through production.
EMF's capabilities can support repair and replacement projects involving material handling equipment, heavy mechanical components, motor-driven systems, structural assemblies, shafts, wear components, and custom replacement parts.
When a specialized component is unavailable, our machining and fabrication capabilities give us options beyond simply searching for another supplier.
When the Machine Is Older Than the Parts Catalog
Some of the best industrial machinery was built to last.
It may have been running for 20, 30, or more years and still perform its job extremely well.
But eventually the support network around it starts disappearing.
The OEM stops producing a component.
A supplier closes.
A drawing can't be found.
The new version of the part doesn't fit the old machine.
That's exactly where the combination of repair + reverse engineering + machining + fabrication + custom parts manufacturing becomes valuable.
If the machine is still worth running, EMF can help determine whether there's a practical way to keep it running.
Repair It, Rebuild It or Make Another One
Manufacturing equipment problems don't always arrive with instructions.
Sometimes a customer knows exactly what needs to be machined.
Other times, all they know is that a critical machine is down.
That's okay.
EMF can help evaluate whether the solution involves:
- Repairing the original component
- Rebuilding worn areas
- Machining critical surfaces
- Welding or fabricating replacement sections
- Manufacturing a new component
- Reverse engineering an obsolete part
- Modifying the existing machine
- Adapting a modern component to older equipment
The problem determines the process—not the other way around.
One Project. Multiple Industrial Capabilities.
A complex manufacturing repair can cross several trades.
A damaged assembly might require:
Evaluation → Engineering → Disassembly → Fabrication → Welding → Machining → Replacement Parts → Assembly → Finishing
EMF's advantage is the ability to bring many of those capabilities together.
Instead of sending a component from a welding shop to a machine shop and then to another company for additional work, more of the project can remain within one industrial organization.
That can simplify complex repair and manufacturing projects where multiple processes have to work together.
Supporting Manufacturing Beyond the Repair
Not every project begins with broken equipment.
EMF's capabilities can also support manufacturers that need custom industrial components, fabricated assemblies, machined parts, heavy steel processing, or specialized manufacturing resources beyond their own in-house capacity.
Whether the need is maintenance-driven, production-driven, or part of a larger equipment project, EMF can bring substantial industrial resources to the job.
